Metrix Electronics Limited supplies and supports an extensive selection of electrical and electronics instruments for laboratory and industrial applications. We operate a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000. As members of the GAMBICA trade association we are able to offer applications, advice and specialist assistance on all of the products that we supply. The company is a participant in two GAMBICA special interest groups: process measurement & control, and electronic test & measurement instrumentation. In 2006, Metrix Electronics Limited also joined the CAI. The CAI is the Confederation of Aerial Industries Limited, a representative trade body for the TV signal distribution industry.
Rugged Indicators for Marine and Transportation Applications use New Stepper Motor Technology
Rugged analogue meters, using new stepper motor technology, are now available from Metrix Electronics Ltd. Highly resistant to shock and vibration to EN 60 051 standards, they are particularly suitable for marine and transportation use. Applications include thrust direction, rudder position, propeller adjustment, RPM, temperature and speed. Housed in 72, 96 or 144mm square DIN-size panel mounting cases with a choice of 270 or 360 degree pointer mechanisms. Typical units have a 4 to 20mA input range, while the scales can be customised to suit the user’s application (see 360 degree thrust angle example). Both the scale and pointer can be illuminated with adjustable brightness. The auxiliary power supply voltage is 18 to 36V DC. Operating temperature range is -25°C to +55°C.

2008 Catalogue of Professional TV Meters for Terrestrial, Cable & Satellite Applications
A new 6-page catalogue details the Sefram TV signal analysers ranges. These are compatible with professional analogue and digital TV, and high definition (HDTV) installer measurement requirements. Six new models in the S-7851 series offer comprehensive measurements of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 digital terrestrial (DVB-T, COFDM), cable (DVB-C, QAM) and satellite (DVB-S, QPSK and DVB-S2, QPSK/8PSK) signals. All models feature a 6.5-inch wide-screen colour TFT to show TV pictures, spectrum and detailed measurement displays. They have a compact housing, water resistant front panel, durable carrying case, weigh just 2.1kg and are backed by a two year warranty. Three S-7803B series models are rugged, highly portable and easy-to-use meters dedicated to digital terrestrial, cable or satellite applications. Users can configure the new DAS 1400 series portable paperless recorders to have from 6 to 36 analogue signal channels.This means one recorder can be used for different development, production or service data acquisition applications. Up to three input modules can be installed. Two types are available: ‘Universal’ modules have 6 isolated channels for DC voltage (1mV to 1000V), true RMS AC (200mV to 500V) or thermocouple inputs. 12-input ‘multiplexed’ modules accept input signals up to 50V, thermocouple or PT100 sensors. The DAS 1400 series offer direct recording onto the internal hard disk, with a bandwidth of up to 100kHz per channel. A 12-inch colour screen displays waveforms during acquisition, or from memory. Ethernet, USB and RS-232 interfaces are provided for data transfer to a network, external storage device or a PC for archiving and further analysis. |

Arbitrary Generators - Making Waves
A new series of arbitrary function generators is available from Metrix Electronics.They can generate standard or user-defined waveforms with crystal-controlled sampling rates upto 125MHz , a 14-bit vertical resolution and up to 4 million horizontal points. Uses include signal simulation and test in many industrial, laboratory and service applications. Customised waveforms can be created from scratch, or by editing standard waveforms. A PC Arbitrary waveform editor program allows the user to create, edit and download complex waveforms, while multiple waveforms can be stored in flash memory. Three models offer standard 31, 40 or 50MHz; sine, square, ramp or pulse waveforms outputs. A fourth model has dual channel 50MHz outputs to operate independently or in sum mode to create more complex waveforms. |
